For the "Fall of the House of Usher," imagine making a film out of this story. Choose suitable actors for each of the major roles, adding extra characters and scenes to make it more interesting if necessary. Make sure you explain why you chose certain actors for each part, and why you added in extra scenes (if you felt the need to). Due Friday, December 2nd, at 10 pm.

If I were to make a film on the story "The Fall of the House of Usher", I would choose the actors of Steve Buscemi, Sarah Paulson, and Morgan Freeman. I would choose Steve for his role in Mr Deeds to play the part of Roderick, Morgan for the part of the narrator from his role in Bruce Almighty, and Sarah for her role in American Horror Story for the part of Madeline. I choose these characters especially for the parts they played in the movie or TV series listed. They would fit the parts of the characters in the story. I would add a scene of Madeline, Sarah, waking up in the coffin and her attempt to escape while having breaking points back to the narrator and Roderick. This would help add more suspense to the story.

If there were to be a movie made of the "Fall of the House of Usher", I would chose Tate Langdon, Taylor Schilling, and Laura Prepon to play the roles. I chose these characters based on the roles they play in their own shows. I chose Tate to play Roderick because, in American Horror Story, Tate plays the psycho Evan Peters. To play the narrator, I chose Taylor Schilling. I chose her because of her role in Orange is the New Black. She is like the narrator of that show. The longer she stays with crazy women at the prison, she starts going crazy too. Finally, I chose Laura Prepon to play Madeline. In Orange is the New Black, Laura does not take any crap from no one. When Madeline wakes up from her coma, she kills her brother to put her in a coffin. That is why I would chose those characters.

If I made a movie out of "The Fall of the House of Usher" I would choose Andrew Lincoln, Morgan Freeman, and Emma Watson to play the parts of Roderick, the Narrator and Madaline respectively. I would choose Andrew Lincoln because he is a great actor and has experience playing crazy roles. I would choose Morgan Freeman because let's be serious here, why would you have ANYONE else narrate something? And I would choose Emma Watson for the role of Madaline because she's a good actress and could own that role.

If "The Fall of the House of Usher" film were made I would have to pick Tom Hiddleston to play Roderick, because he is well adapted to playing insane characters. Amy Adams as Madeline because she can play any role with ease. And to play the narrator James McAvoy, because he's a real everyman actor, and knows how to hold down a story. And the only scene added to the film that could add extra visual symbolism would be a scene were the narrator would tour the castle by himself, and throughout the home he's sees clues of the life of the Ushers and which he finally discovers the basement and Roderick is crying on the coffin because of his sister's impending doom. This would add a layer of exposition to the story, thereby helping support the major ideas of the story.

I would choose to make Roderick Usher Jackson Rathbone, because of his role in the Criminal Minds episode “Conflicted”. He had to portray a character with Multiple Personality Disorder so I think he would fit the role of Roderick perfectly. For Madeline, I’m choosing Jenn Proske. Based on the pictures in the book of Madeline, Jenn would best fit the role. For the role of the Narrator , I’m choosing Matthew Gray Gubler because of his lead character role in Criminal Minds. In the story, the Narrator is seemingly going insane from spending too much time with Roderick, and Matthew would be able to act that out very well.

If I were to create a film based on " The Fall of the House of Usher", I would cast Amanda Abbington as Madeline, Jason Bateman as the narrator, and Christopher Lloyd as Roderick. I think Amanda Abbington would do a swell job of portraying Madeline, despite her only being mentioned or seen in scenes a few times. Based on previous roles he's had in the past, I believe Jason Bateman would bring a bit of humor to his part as the narrator, adding snarky comments to some of the strange happenings in the mansion. Finally, Christopher Lloyd would be the perfect role for Roderick, in my opinion. His roles as Doc from "Back to the Future" and Uncle Fester from "The Addams Family" made it clear to me that he was fit for the role of Roderick.

If I made a movie out of Fall of the House of Usher, I would cast Steve Busceti as Ridrick because he is kind of odd looking and has played the role of a weird character in Armageddon. I would cast Xander Berkeley as the narrator because he has been shown to play a professional yet cowardly man as Gregory in The Walking Dead. I would cast Joey King as Madeline due to her ability to play unhinged female characters like she did in The Flash.

If I was to make a film of "The Fall of the House of Usher" I would choose to cast Johnny Depp as Roderick Usher for his notable role as the mad hatter in Alice through the Looking Glass. I think that he would fully exemplify Roderick's insanity. As Madeline I would cast Margot Robbie for her role in Suicide Squad to add to the craziness of the book.As for the narrator I feel that Tom Hanks would be a best fit the role because of his role in Forest Gump because his character would help anyone in need. If I was to add a scene I would show Roderick having a dream of Madeline clawing her way out of the coffin foreshadowing a future event.

I would chose Jack Nicholson to play the part of Roderick because he played a crazy man in "The Shining." I would chose Tom Hanks to be the narrator because he was a popular narrator in "Forrest Gump." Lastly I would chose Angelina Jolie to play Madeline because she is a good actress and has played many different roles. I think these people would make a good cast for the movie "The House of Usher."

If I were to make a movie of this story, I'd cast Nicolas Cage as Roderick, since he has experience playing eccentric madmen (too many films to list in which he portrayed these types of characters), and since he bears the titular large nose of Roderick. Next, I'd cast Wynona Ryder as Madeline, since she somewhat looks like Poe's description of Madeline, and she is able to portray a murderous woman, as in "Girl Interrupted." Finally, I'd cast Anthony Hopkins as the Narrator, as he is able to portray an originally sane character and maintain a gripping narrative, but also that his ability to portray madness could shine in this role. I don't quite see the need to add extra scenes, as there are enough hints as to what caused the Ushers to be the way they are, and Madeline's entrance is meant to be a surprise, so it's best to keep it that way.

If I were to make a film of "The Fall of the House of Usher" I would choose Evan Peters, Angelina Jolie, and Will Smith to be the actors/actresses. I would choose Evan Peters to play Roderick because he played a really good crazy person in American Horror Story. Next, I would choose Angelina Jolie to play Madeline because I feel that she is a very good actress, and resembles her. Lastly, I would choose Will Smith to be the narrator because he could play both a funny and serious character.

If "The Fall of the House of Usher" became a film I would pick Morgan Freeman as the narrator, Anthony Hopkins as Roderick, and Amy Adams to play Madeline. I picked Anthony Hopkins because I've seen him act as Hannibal Lector which proved to me he would be able to nail Roderick's strange tendencies with ease. I picked Morgan Freeman as the narrator simply because he's narrated a plethora of unbelievable movies. I also picked him because he simply is the best and he is very well liked by the public as a narrator. For Madeline, I picked Amy Adams because of her ability to act any role and the amount of more modern movies she's been in, to help modernize the movie a bit but not enough to make it seem too new.

When making a movie for the "House of the Usher" I would first cast Steve Buschemi for the role of Madeline because of the film he starred in "Billy Madison" where he clearly has a mental decease (and I can picture him doing a female role). Next I would choose Willem Dafoe for the role of Rodrick because he is meant to be Madeline's twin and Dafoe and Buschemi look somewhat similar. Finally I would cast Danny Devito for the role of Phillip Winthrop because of his role in "Batman Returns" as the penguin.

For my cast, I would have Johnny Depp play Roderick, Natalie Portman as Madeline, and Morgan Freeman as the Narrator. Johnny Depp is perfect for the role of Roderick because he is exceptionally well in performing serious roles with insane ways of thinking, like when he played the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. Natalie Portman is a good actress for Madeline because her looks are really close to the pictures in the book and she has been in many movies. Last but not least, Morgan Freeman is the best actor for the narrator because he has the perfect voice and is one of the most well known actors to play a narrator. I would keep the story the same because changing the story would ruin it just like how Hollywood ruins movies based on stories.

If a film version of "The Fall of the House of Usher" would be made I would cast Kaley Ann Voorhees, Norm Lewis, and Ramin Karimloo. They all have played roles in "The Phantom of the Opera." Norm Lewis would play the narrator because of his strong portrayal of the Phantom. Ramin would play Roderick because he knows how to play crazy because he is one of the best people to play the Phantom. Kaley would play Madeline because she is just a phenomenal actress. Her portray of Christine is pure genius especially due to her being the youngest actress to play that character on Broadway. If I were to add in more scenes it would be more of Madeline. Like showing her before she "died", her in the coffin, and when she is trying to break the door down. I would add these scenes to give the character more depth.

If I were to make a movie for "The Fall of the House of Usher" I would cast Johnny Depp as Roderick, Morgan Freeman as the narrator, and Amy Adams as Madeline. First off I would choose Johnny Depp as Roderick because he's played many different roles in movies, portraying many different personalities so I think he would be able to pick up the role easily. I would choose Morgan Freeman as the narrator because he has narrated plenty of films previously and will bring tons of experience to the part. Lastly I would choose Amy Adams as Madeline because she easily picks up roles so she would be a good fit and learn the role quickly.

If I made a movie about "The Fall of the House Of Usher" I would cast Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson as Roderick. Dwyane goes insane in some of his films that he appears in and he is physically insanely strong. I would have Amy Adam's play as Madeleine. The reason why is because she is one of the best actresses ever and her acting is great. I would portrait Joe Buck as the narrator. The reason why is because he is the best NFL commentator. He's also very funny and he grabs the audiences attention.

If I created a movie based on "The Fall of the House of Usher" I would cast Lea Michele, Jared Leto, and Kiefer Sutherland. I would cast Lea Michele as Madeline because of her role as Hester in Scream Queens. Even though her character is mentally unstable in Scream Queens instead of physically unstable, she can play pretty much any role. I think she would fit that role very well. I would cast Jared Leto as Roderick because of his role as the Joker in Suicide Squad. Not only did he play the Joker extremely well, he used the technique of method acting in real life and actually almost went mentally insane for a little bit. Lastly, I would choose Kiefer Sutherland for the narrator because of his role as President Kirkman on Designated Survivor. He has a strong voice which is a quality that a narrator should possess and he would play the role well. He would also do a good job of making the scene when the narrator wonders if he is going insane believable. I would add one scene to the ending of the movie. I would have a scene that shows Madeline waking up inside the coffin and escaping, and then her walking upstairs. I would then have the camera cut to Roderick and the narrator to see their reactions.

If "The Fall of the House of Usher" were produced into a movie, I could imagine Jack Nicholson as Roderick, Ellen DeGeneres as Madeline, and Jon Gruden as the narrator. In "The Shining," Jack Nicholson roles as Jack Torrance. Jack was a maniac who was trying to kill Danny. Ellen DeGeneres was the voice actor for Dory in "The Finding Memo." Dory got injured and was temporarily disabled in the movie. Jon Gruden is a former NFL coach, and he currently a commentator on Monday Night Football. His voice well known to all football fans and he has a vast vocabulary. All three of my chosen actors have similar traits to the characters in "The Fall of the House of Usher." They would all portray their assigned characters very well.

The actors I would pick to play the role of the characters in the "Fall of the House of Usher" are Taylor Schilling, Janel Parrish and Michelle Trachtenberg. I chose Taylor Schilling to play the narrator of the book. I picked her because of the way she acts in Orange is the New Black. The longer she stays with crazy people in the prison, she starts going crazy and in the book the narrator begins to feel crazy when he is with Roderick. For Roderick I chose Janel Parrish from the series Pretty Little Liars. She is crazy and insane. Michelle Trachtenberg is who I chose for Madeline. She resembles Madeline with her black hair. Also she has that pale and creepy look that the picture portrays in the book.

If I had to film a movie for The Fall of the House of the Usher as my actors/actresses I would use Evan Peters,Christina Ricci and Matthew Gray Gubler. I would use Evan Peters as Roderick because he plays a good role in American Horror story of a crazy guy. I would use Christina Ricci as Madeline because she plays a creepy daughter in the Addams Family and also resembles Madeline. I would use Matthew Gray Gubler because his role in Criminal Minds is to help people just like the narrator wants to try to help his friend and he is normal in some episodes and then in a season he becomes crazy just like the narrator in the end.

If I had to make a movie for the "Fall of the House of Usher" I would pick Heath Ledger, Sara Ramirez, and Thomas Gibson. For Roderick I would pick Heath Ledger who plays the role of the Joker in Batman. Both of these characters are completely insane. For Madeline I would choose Sara Ramirez be they resemble each other. She plays the role of a doctor in Grey's Anatomy. The both of them have black hair and are crazy and in the show Sara is mean. For the narrator I picked Thomas Gibson who plays Aaron Hotchner from Criminal Minds. I chose him as the best fit for this role because in the show he always deals with crazy people and can keep himself from going insane. Like the narrator, by the end of the show he turns crazy because of a psycho path.

Were I in charge of casting a film based in the recent story, I would take into account not only an actor's appearance but also their ability to act in a role of magnitude. In the role of Roderick Usher I would cast Christoph Waltz due to his inclination for portraying obsessed characters who are borderline insane. As for Madeline I believe Helena Carter would be sufficient, despite Madeline being dead already she could portray the corpselike appearance. Finally Denzel Washington would be my choice as the actor to play the narrator due to the clarity and seeking of truth his characters possess in the midst of insanity and mystery. A series of spontaneous and momentary flashbacks would serve to add definition and a comparison to the eras of the Usher house as an extra scene.

If Fall of the House of Usher was a movie I would choose Johnny Depp to play Roderick, Evan Peters to play the narrator and Kristen Stewart to play Madeline. Johnny Depp would be a good choice for Roderick because he can really get into the role of playing crazy characters. Evan Peters would be a good choice for the narrator because he is an actor who can go from playing a silly, skeptical character to a slightly crazy character very well. Finally I think Kristen Stewart would be great at playing Madeline because she just looks like shes dead already. I would keep the story the same due to the fact when Hollywood changes stories from other books into movies they tend to leave out important and interesting parts of the story.

I would choose Johnny Depp to play Roderick Usher because I feel that he has played many unique and crazy roles in many different movies. For the role of Madeline, I would choose Kristen Stewart because of her role in twilight and also because I think she has a sickly look to her. Also, I would choose Michael Pitt for the narrator due to his roles of many different characters, I think this would be an easy role for him to play. I don't think that I would change anything about the story because I feel that it is creepy and suspenseful enough the way it was written.

In "Fall of the House of Usher" the movie, the stars would be Brad Pitt as Roderick due to his fantastic acting as a psychopath in "Fight Club". I would then choose Sam Elliot to narrate the story. I choose Sam Elliot because of his exceptional narration abilities as shown in "The Big Lebowski". And to play Madeline I would choose Robin Williams, simply because of his excellent portrayal as corpse in the movie of Life.

The actors I would choose would be Leonardo Di Caprio, Christian Bale, and Jennifer Lawrence. I would put Di Caprio as the role of the narrator. In most films with Di Caprio, he plays the main innocent character who always ends up in a sticky situation, much like the narrator in this story. As Roderick, I would assign Christian Bale to this role. Christian Bale plays the dark role of Batman in "The Dark Knight Rises," while Roderick has a dark and crazy mind. Bale would fit the role perfectly. Last but not least, I would place Jennifer Lawrence as Madeline. Lawrence's role in the Hunger Games leaves her character with a very quiet and mysterious personality after she exits the "game." Madeline, is about the same, but considered dead in this story. Also, Jennifer Lawrence is quite pale, as is Madeline in the story.

If I made a film for the short story I would choose Matthew Gray Gubler for the narrator because he plays a really smart guy on "Criminal Minds" and he would be able to make the story sound creepy. I would choose Johnny Depp for the role of Roderick since he played other scary, creepy characters in other movies. Lastly, I would have Daveigh Chase play Madeline because she played the scary girl in "The Ring". I wouldn't change anything about the story because it had a lot of suspense and it is good the way it is.

If a movie was made from "The Fall of the House of Usher", I would choose Jim Carey, Gary Sinise, and Mila Kunis. I picked Mila Kunis to play as Madaline due to the many diverse rolls she has played and the fact she is well know and will draw in viewers. I choose Gary Sinise as the narrator, due to many of his previous narrations, such as WWII in HD, amoung others. Finally Jim Carey would play Roderick, and I choose him due to his abilities in the field of mental in stability, such as the Grinch, and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

If I made the the movie "The Fall of the House of Usher I would choose Nicholas Cage to be Roderick because of his past experiences being an absolute bad man in his films. I would choose Morgan Freeman to be the narrator simply because he has the greatest voice of all time. For Madeline, I would choose Kristen Stewart because of her work in the twilight series and because she can make her self look like death easily.

I would choose Johnny Depp as the narrator because in every movie I've seen him in, he's very dedicated to his character. Lastly I would choose Tilda Swinton as Madeline because she already looks sick and dead and because of her role in the Chronicles of Narnia.
